MessageSujet: Daughter of Willard Hadjes   Mar 6 Jan 2009 - 23:45

Hello,

I am Willard Hadjes' youngest daughter and would like to talk with you. One thing I would like to correct is that my Dad and his crew did not parachute out. He and co-pilot, Homer Kuck, performed a wheels up landing (belly landing) in a field. My Dad told me that the Germans were shooting the airmen in their parachutes and he and Homer said they were going to land it, but anyone who wanted to could bail out. No one bailed out and all survived the landing. Also, my Dad was native to Iowa, where he was born. I understand that you have been in contact with my cousin and I would also love to have a correspondance. Please contact me via my e-mail (carenal@yahoo.com).

Thank you! Christine Arenal

Pour les non bilingues:

Citation:

merci! Christine Arenal

MessageSujet: not a joke   Mer 7 Jan 2009 - 0:03

It is not a joke. I did want to correct a typo that I just saw in my earlier post. It is Hadjes. Posting is a little challenging because I do not speak French and Google is translating.

Thanks!

MessageSujet: ok, not a typo   Mer 7 Jan 2009 - 0:11

Ok, it's not a typo. The translator just will not spell my Dad's last name correctly.

MessageSujet: Hope to hear from you...   Mar 20 Jan 2009 - 17:37

Hello usryan,

I received your e-mail and have sent you two replies, but have not heard back. I hope everything is well. I will be sending some photos this week and as much information as I can remember about my Dad before, during, and after his service in the Army Air Corps. Please let me know if you did not receive my prior e-mails and I'll try to send them from another e-mail account to see if that works.

Cheers!
